Climate

Nepal climate varies according to its season. The country has 5 seasons: spring, summer, monsoons, autumn, and winter. The best time to travel to Nepal is during spring and autumn season when the weather is neither hot nor cold.

Languages

More than a hundred languages are spoken in Nepal due the many ethnic groups and language groups existing there. Nepali is the official language of Nepal and is spoken by 90 percent of the population. Many Nepalis in government and business speak and understand English very well.

Religion

Religion plays and important position in Nepalese life and society. Nepal is famous for being the world’s only Hindu Kingdom. Over 80 percent of the population say that they are Hindus. Buddhism is the second largest and others are Tantrism, Islam and Christianity.

Cultures & Festivals

Nepal’s culture is unique because the culture is the influenced by the land, climate and available resources. It can be called as “the way of life for an entire society”. The culture of Nepal is heavy influenced by two major groups in Nepalese society which are Tibeto-Burmans, from the north, and Indo-Aryans from the south. These customs are inherited from both sides and can be seen in traditions, festivals, faiths and doctrines that have permeated in the society.

The Rupee is the official currency of Nepal.
